I often get asked by clients that want to list their home, “hey Aman what should I do to make my house more appealing to buyers?”. Well the simple answer the skys the limit! Of course you have to have your budget in mind, the easiest way and most cost effective way is to box up all of your extra items in your home and store them either in the garage or basement somewhere out of sight! The more items you have in your house the smaller it is going to feel. A home with minimal items will feel bigger.
Once you are done with the clutter I recommend fixing all of the little items that need repair. If you have ever had a roof leak that stained the roof get that repainted it. Im not talking about hiding problems with your home im talking about completing whats already been fixed. A buyer is about to make the largest purchase of their lives and any potential issues can turn them off and cost you big money.
If your looking to absolutely maximize the sale of your home you may want to get into a renovating your home. This could be a small renovation which would be floors and finishes all the way up to washrooms and kitchens. I recommend talking to your agent prior to this to ensure this will help because I have seen many homes renovated that will not return what was spent on the renovation!
